Still Point

A still point can come upon you
Quite suddenly
At the instant a sharp fragrance
Sizzles from the pan and hits the air,
In the heart of the long-forgotten strains of a song
Spreading on the waves of a faraway breeze,
At the centre of a dance movement
Where the rhythm enters your entire being,
And when out of blue, a silver moon
Slides over the green gaze of a tree.
