Whenever someone wrongs you, by their actions or their words, by their rage or their betrayal, let it all wash over you like a swift, clear brook; like a surging, splash of water. Do not drench yourself in it, nor allow it to seep into you.Just stay still and watch it surround you, and then surrender it without making it your own. It is not yours anyway. When you stay untouched yet watchful of this hurt, it remains with the person it came from. It is theirs. Their problem, their angst, their struggle and their suffering. Don’t make it yours by reacting or retaliating in any way. Return it to them with silence and stillness and the ensuing peace will be yours. Cleansing and liberating.
